Declare & Stand

My Overcoming Declaration

I am strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. I am an over-comer! I am a Christian soldier called out, in-filled, empowered, and deployed as one of God's spiritual warriors! I put on the full armor of God so that I can take my stand against the devil's schemes. For my struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore I put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, I am able to stand my ground, and after I have done everything, to stand! I stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around my waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, I take up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. I take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

My 'weapon of choice' is PRAYER! And I pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, I am alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people. I submit myself to God. I resist the devil, and he flees from me! I draw near to God and He draws near to me. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world!

Whatever I bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever I loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. I AM JESUS' CHURCH! The gates of hell will not prevail against me. No weapon forged against me will prevail, and I will refute every tongue that accuses me. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is my vindication from the Lord.

I am more than a conqueror through Him who loved me. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus my Lord!

I WILL pray! I will be victorious! I am strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. I am more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus who loves me!

Ten Probing Questions

What if we truly, deeply believed each of the following premises?

  1. 1

What if we really believed that God is absolutely sovereign -- that He is in total control of everything that happens in the universe, and nothing catches Him by surprise?

  2. 2

What if we really believed that prayer is the most powerful force on the face of the earth -- that it moves the very hand of Almighty God?

  3. 3

What if we really believed that satan and his demons are real, that they are actively working to destroy our families, our churches, and our nation?

  4. 4

What if we really believed that Jesus Christ has already defeated satan at the cross, and that we walk in that victory every day?

  5. 5

What if we really believed that the Holy Spirit living inside of us is the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead?

  6. 6

What if we really believed that God’s Word is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword -- and that it will not return void?

  7. 7

What if we really believed that we are in a spiritual war -- right now, today -- and that every Christian is called to be a soldier in that war?

  8. 8

What if we really believed that God hears every single prayer we pray, and that He answers according to His perfect will and timing?

  9. 9

What if we really believed that revival can happen -- in our churches, in our communities, and in our nation -- if God’s people will humble themselves and pray?

  10. 10

What if we really believed that Jesus is coming back soon, that eternity is real, and that every moment we have on this earth matters for the Kingdom of God?

If we really believed that with all our hearts -- how much time would we be willing to invest in fervent prayer to God, until we saw it all unfold?

Victory in Christ

Jesus Came to Destroy the Works of the Devil

Throughout the Gospels, we see a stunning pattern: every time Jesus encountered the demonic realm, the demons reacted with absolute terror. They didn't just recognize Jesus -- they were terrified of Him. They knew exactly who He was and what He had come to do. Consider the following passages:

When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell at his feet, shouting at the top of his voice, 'What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don't torture me!'

Luke 8:28 (NIV)

Notice that the demon didn't question who Jesus was. There was no confusion, no debate. The demon immediately identified Jesus as the “Son of the Most High God.” And the demon's response was not defiance -- it was begging.

'What do you want with us, Son of God?' they shouted. 'Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?'

Matthew 8:29 (NIV)

The demons understood that there is an “appointed time” -- a day of final judgment already set by God. They knew their defeat was sealed. Their only plea was for a delay.

And they begged Jesus repeatedly not to order them to go into the Abyss.

Luke 8:31 (NIV)

The book of Revelation reveals the final outcome of this cosmic war. Satan and his demons do not win. They never had a chance:

He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years... And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Revelation 20:1-2, 10 (NIV)

This is the truth that changes everything: Jesus didn't come only to forgive our sins. He came as a Heavenly Warrior to systematically destroy the works of the devil. And the final chapter has already been written. Satan loses. Jesus wins. Victoriously, completely, and eternally.
