The Story Behind the Books

Sam Chess never planned to be an author. As a pastor at Grace Emmanuel Church, he kept hearing the same thing from his congregation: “I wish I could understand the Bible better — especially the hard parts.”

So he started writing. Not for scholars. Not for theologians. For the person sitting in the third row on Sunday morning who wants to understand what God is saying — and why it matters for their life today.

Five books later, Sam's accessible, encouraging approach to Scripture has reached readers far and wide. From the triumph of Revelation to the raw honesty of Peter's failures, each book is written with one goal: to make the deep truths of the Bible feel like a conversation with a trusted friend.

Sam intentionally wrote to make the difficult understandable — to ‘unmask’ the weird and scary, to simply unfold the chronological storyline of Jesus’s final triumphant victory!

The Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ is fully God — born of a virgin, sinless in life, sacrificial in death, risen bodily, and coming again.
Salvation comes by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
Jesus returns victorious, and evil is utterly defeated — just as the book of Revelation reveals.
